Once I arrive, I blend into the background and focus on capturing what is actually happening — the tiny yawns, the first nursing attempts, the way your partner looks at the baby, the moment grandma walks in and meets them for the very first time. The result is something completely real, completely raw, and consistently among the most treasured images my clients ever receive.
What Happens During a Fresh 48 Session?
When I arrive at the hospital, we typically spend about one to two hours together. Throughout that time, here is what I focus on capturing: Baby details — tiny fingers and toes, that brand-new skin, the hospital bracelet, the way they curl up like they are still in the womb Mama and baby — skin to skin contact, first nursing attempts, the way you look at each other when nobody else is watching. Family moments — your partner’s first solo hold, siblings meeting the baby, grandparents if they are there and you would like them included The room itself — the flowers people sent, the notes on the whiteboard, the small details that make this day entirely yours. Throughout the session, I work quietly and efficiently. Most families tell me afterward that they barely noticed I was there — and that is precisely what I aim for.
Do I Need to Have My Hair Done or the Room Cleaned Up?
Absolutely not — and please do not stress about this. The realness is entirely the point. You just had a baby, and you look exactly like someone who just did something incredible, because you did. Because I stay on call around your birth, I keep a limited number of spots available each month to ensure I can always be there when you need me. Once you book, I stay in regular contact as your due date approaches.
