Hello and welcome, I'm glad you are here and I'm pretty sure we are about to become best friends!  I'm Emily, mother of 5 beautiful children and married to my college sweetheart. I grew up in a beautiful coastal town in California prior to moving to Texas as a teenager. That's where Poppy+Blue came from-a little Cali and a little Tex!

I've aways had a passion and natural ability to create unique experiences for my family and friends. Over the years I have captured these special moments through an evolving lens. A hobby that brought me joy, while simultaneously curating my families' story, planted the seed for Poppy and Blue. I love life, adventure, Mexican food, a good book, long chat with a friend. Life is bright, bold and beautiful-that is how I see things through the lens and that is how I will edit your gallery.

As the mother of an autistic child, I have gained a particular set of skills that allow me to understand and accommodate the needs and challenges neurodiverse family's navigate. I understand the chaos, the poop talk,  THE NEVER HOLDING STILL-haha! I am so excited  to be able to capture your children in an organic way that is uniquely them, while also being able to bring the beauty and love that is your family into focus. I will make the process as fun and joy-filled as possible.  Doesn't sound possible right? Don't you worry for a second, I've got you, you will be shocked when we are done how quick and easy it truly was. Your husband might even willingly volunteer the next time!

For me both personally and professionally, there is nothing more miraculous than being a part of the moment that a life begins, obvi I've done it 5 times!  To freeze time for your family through photography. I give parents the gift of those first precious moments spent together as new family to view again and again and again.
