I’m so glad you’re here, and I have a feeling we’re about to become fast friends. I’m Emily, wife to my college sweetheart and mom of five beautiful kids. I grew up in a small coastal town in California before moving to Texas as a teenager. That mix of Cali charm and Texas warmth is where Poppy + Blue was born.
I’ve always had a passion for creating meaningful experiences for the people I love. What began as a joyful hobby - capturing my own family’s story - has blossomed into Poppy + Blue Photography, where I now get to preserve the stories of families like yours. I love life, adventure, Mexican food, a good book, and long conversations with friends. Life is bright, bold, and beautiful and that’s exactly how I see it through my lens and how I’ll edit your gallery.

As a mom, and especially as the parent of a child with autism, I understand the chaos, the silliness, and the unpredictability that often come with family life. That perspective allows me to capture children as they truly are organic, free, and full of personality, while also showing the deep love that holds your family together. I promise to make the process fun, stress-free, and surprisingly easy. Even the most camera-shy dads end up laughing and volunteering for “next time”!

I also have the incredible honor of documenting some of life’s earliest and most sacred moments - birth stories and Fresh 48 sessions. Having experienced it five times myself, I know there’s nothing more miraculous than the first moments of life. Being able to freeze those fleeting memories for families is one of the greatest gifts I can give.

This work has brought me so much joy. I’ve laughed, cried, and built friendships with clients who have become like family. More than anything, I want Poppy + Blue to be a space where you feel free to be exactly who you are.
